Master Plan Report

The following report presents Phase 1 of the Master Plan process to set a ten to twenty year vision and strategy for the development of the University of London’s Bloomsbury estate in the heart of the Knowledge Quarter. It describes why a Master Plan is essential for the University and the Bloomsbury Colleges, the need for fit for purpose academic space for world leading University and college`s and the core design objectives that have been developed. It assesses the suitability of different buildings and plots for future development and makes recommendations for the principles that will inform individual building projects. Public realm proposals also forms a key part of the report connecting the respective sites. Extensive consultation has been central to the Master Plan design and the proposals within the report have been shaped by this process.
